Abraham rejoiced to see Jesus day and was glad (john 8:56)
Abraham saw from and lived from a future perspective and He was glad, he saw the end result.
Isaiah who was prophesying woes of judgment, until he saw into and lived from the future and he stopped prophesying judgment and saw that the glory of God will cover the whole earth. (john 12:41)
We need perspective once again.
The biggest problem today in western Christianity is that so many of us are still preaching from and living from a dark theology, where the devil over powers humanity and the Christians who were living correctly (depending on which stream of Christianity you belong to) were snatched away, because we failed in bringing the kingdom of God to the earth.
I believe the reason Christianity is not flourishing in some streams of Christianity in Australia is because we have taken on a theology of darkness, it’s become our source and so we live and speak and even prophesy from that premise and instead of living out, ‘your kingdom come your will be done here on the earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10)
Because of what we have spouted out for so long we find that Hollywood makes movies about destruction and the end of the world. The media sells news papers and we read Revelation based on the latest news paper report, even though Revelation was all about 2000 years ago with John and His brothers in the Roman Tribulation.
Revelation 1:9 I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation.
Our focus and source of this dark theology which is not the gospel of Christ has supplanted a powerful delusion which has became strongly entrenched in the west.
Some famous preachers have made millions on book sales about supposed endtime prophetic stuff that never happened. But in saying that words have power and we have framed up an endtime tribulation where it gets really bad and the devil wins and we have to be rescued by skybus because The anti Christ Henry Kissinger I mean mikhail Gorbachev, er sorry I mean Prince Charles, oh no it was Obama.
How about Nero, everybody knew who the writer was talking about. Revelation was not the mystery we claim it is today it was clear to Johns readers.
The kingdom of God does not come with observation, what was a mustard seed has become the biggest tree as we are seeing God’s kingdom flourish across the globe, what started as a counter culture in the midst of a political one world government Roman Empire we had Jesus the Son of God and 12 disciples, now we have a globe that is filled with the Son of God and His kingdom is advancing.
My prayer for Australia is that we stop embracing dark theology and that it’s getting darker and instead pray and speak that it’s getting lighter and that the glory of God will cover the whole earth, just as Isaiah and Abraham spoke from the future and gained perspective I pray we gain that same perspective and live from the goodness and love of the kingdom of God. 😎
